Wrecking Crew
Balance of Terror
I Scream CD
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Wrecking Crew!
After the first wave of hardcore bands rose and fell in the early to mid-eighties, there was a second wave of kids ready to grab the torch and run with it. Boston's Wrecking Crew was one of these outfits that were determined to keep the potent sounds of hardcore alive. And they did.
This is the re-release of their Balance of Terror LP (originally released in '89) along with two bonus tracks ("Confusion" and "My Mind's Diseased"). It contains that potent New York hardcore approach ala their contemporaries Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front with a slight touch of metal. Heavy, uncompromising, and fast, Balance of Terror is a must for any fan of that old-school sound. This release contains some great energy and if you don't know who Wrecking Crew is then this is the perfect opportunity to get familiar with the band. Bridge Nine Records also has a retrospective release out that contains 26 songs, composed of "rare, out of press and previously never heard gems from demo, live, and EP recordings." So you have a few options.
