Victorian Halls
Springteen
Self-Released CD EP

Hold up. Wait one minute. Isn't this The Blood Brothers?

Seriously, Victorian Halls' sound is eerily similar to the Brothers' demon possessed convulsive delivery right down to the vocal screeches and shrieks, the herky-jerky outbursts of emotional excitement, the guitar frenzied wailing and grating, and the spine-chilling piano. It sounds like a Blood Brothers side project band or a Blood Brothers tribute band.

The EP is an exciting burst of crazed energy minus the two dull, down tempo tracks that finish off the release. However, if you already have The Blood Brother's albums tucked away in your collection, then you don't need this copycat release. If you bought Chiodo's newest release Bone Palace Ballet and was disappointed (like myself), and have always been hesitant to taste the unstable sounds of The Blood Brothers then trade it in for a copy of Victorian Halls' Springteen. It contains that skitzy piano-led delivery that is greatly missing on Bone Palace Ballet.

My one thought after listening to Springteen: The Blood Brothers rock!
