Aggression
Bridge Nine CD
"This record is dedicated to the revolutionary spirit and radical thought of oppressed people worldwide."
Bridge Nine is one of the finer hardcore labels out there today. Every release seems worthy to keep in your already bloated collection, and Verse's third full-length Aggression is no exception.
Verse's mid-paced hardcore slowly builds and builds. The pace is steady, however the anger, frustration, and ferociousness is fully felt. Some tracks like "Signals," "Blind Salvation," and "Sons and Daughters" push the speed fast enough to cause rapid heart beat, but overall Verse's hard-edged control doesn't rush through their socially conscience statements.
A lot of the tracks may sound similar, but that is the only downfall to Aggression. I don't get lost in too many hardcore albums nowadays and Verse's past releases didn't totally blow me away, but I have to say Aggression is one hell of an emotional punch to the cranial capacitor. The opener, "The New Fury," hits you hard right away, and the album doesn't let up from there. Hopefully Verse's strong message and even more powerful hardcore delivery will make you react and make a difference in the community that you live. Hardcore is not just about feeling and sharing those daily hardships of life, it's also about trying to combat injustices and lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Are you ready to stop the suffering?
