The Cardinal Sin
Hurry Up and Wait
Grey Flight CD
"What am I doing, I'm 28 years old? / Is this when I want to start living life on the road? / There's many things I hope to see / A wife, child a real family / What kind of husband or father would I be? Always gone."*
Hurry Up and Wait is upbeat, energetic, and echoes that driving melodic charm of Samiam and Alkaline Trio.
The Cardinal Sin write some solid rockers, unfortunately there isn't much diversity on Hurry Up and there isn't really any standout tracks. However, I have to admit that my head didn't stop bouncing until the music stopped. It's a fun release to listen to, but not an album you'll get lost in.
My good buddy loves Alkaline Trio, so I'll pass this release onto him. Hurry Up's driving melodies are void of the over polished treatment found on most of The Cardinal Sin's contemporaries' records, which is definitely a good thing. This is a nice solid release, unfortunately it's not going to make me choose Hurry Up over my Samiam records.
