Take Action! Vol. 7
Hopeless / Sub City CD/DVD Compilation

Take Action! doesn’t slow down with these compilations. Another compilation for a cheap price donating a portion of the proceeds to Do Something, Vol. 7 contains all the trendy bands these young whippersnappers are rocking out to nowadays.

So by now you probably already have a few Take Action! compilations tucked away in your record collection, or if you’re not an old geezer like myself then in your ever growing iTunes library. It doesn’t look like the release contains any unreleased bonus tracks, so if you’re looking for an undiscovered gem look elsewhere. I can’t say there’s a whole lot out of the twenty songs on Vol. 7 that I highly enjoy, however Emery’s “The Party Song” and Silverstein’s “Still Dreaming” were hit with repeats. The rest: Every Time I Die, Chiodos, From First to Last, Motion City Soundtrack, All Time Low, Cute Is What We Aim For, Mayday Parade, Valencia, Every Avenue, Meg and Dia, The Spill Canvas, Thrice, The Matches, Set Your Goals, Drop Dead Gorgeous, The Bled, and Haste the Day.

Bonus DVDs rock! This one contains twenty videos. Again there were only a few standouts for me like Alesana’s “Ambrosia” (don’t ask me why I like this, I just do so bugger off), The Devil Wears Prada’s “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?” (I still won’t bow), A Life Once Lost’s “Firewater Joyride” (best band and video on the release), The Red Chord’s “Dread Prevailed,” August Burns Red’s “Composure,” and Suidice Silence’s “The Price of Beauty.” The rest: Motion City Soundtrack, The Receiving End of Sirens, Plain White T’s, The All American Rejects, Hellogoodbye, All Time Low, This Providence, MxPx, Four Year Strong, Jet Lag Gemini, Aiden, Every Time I Die, The Human Abstract, and High On Fire.

Perhaps Vol. 7 doesn’t contain as many bands I enjoy as on past releases, but if you like a majority of the aforementioned groups then invest in this and help a good cause.
