Every Avenue
Shh, Just Go With It
Fearless CD
Your younger sister who thinks Fall Out Boy and Cartel are the only bands that matter will love Every Avenue.
Hailing from Marysville, Michigan, Every Avenue plays watered-down generic pop punk. All eleven songs on Shh, Just Go With It are void of any originality and the cookie-cutter pop rhythms will make you cringe. This is definitely not for weathered ears that grew up on a steady diet of Fugazi and Jawbox. The sappy piano led “Between You and I” is laughable and almost made me throw up in my mouth (I’m getting that copper penny taste under my tongue).
I don’t get this sound. Shh, Just Go With It is maybe smooth but it’s unmemorable. I prefer my pop-punk with a little more substance and creativity, however if you bathe your ears in the dull sounds of the aforementioned bands then Every Avenue is for you (but hopefully not).
