Destroyer Destroyer
Littered With Arrows
Goodfellow CD
One word: nightmarish!
Every troubled and fuming emotion that’s been smoldering deep down inside the catacombs of your soul will surface while listening to Littered With Arrows.
Destroyer Destroyer’s controlled madness will be a huge jolt to the system for timid ears. Littered With Arrows’ caustic delivery and metallic assault is downright vicious. With a fine job of mixing the pace up, this Oklahoma based outfit terrorizes with fast grinding precision, chugging heart murmur inducing breakdowns, and tidal waves of loud guitar crunches. Among the uncompromising arrangements that never let up, there are a few brief melodic moments that peak out behind the gray skies of Littered With Arrows, especially the short instrumental “Off the Beaten Path.”
The vocals teeter back and forth between maddening growls and some of the most ear-piercing shrills I’ve ever heard (Job For A Cowboy fans will be intrigued). Littered With Arrows is as harsh and extreme as that Zipper ride you can only find at carnivals and fairs that constantly spins, rocks, and flips your caged body while heavy metal music is pumped through the speakers. Definitely not for the weak hearted…but if you’re like me and love a good whiplash, then this is for you.
This is one jarring metal attack that needs to be digested. Like a bone-grinding blend of Converge, Ire, Acme, and Puritan…mixed to a shredded pulp for consumption. Littered With Arrows is definitely one of the most wicked metal attacks released so far this year that really gets the blood boiling. It’s a Goodfellow release, so you know it’s going to be worth your time. I can’t wait to see Destroyer Destroyer rip it up live…this release definitely intrigued my old battered ears.
