Bulldoze
The Final Beatdown
Trip Machine Laboratories CD/DVD
“I’ve walked hard, everywhere I go / New jack suckas are scared to say hello / If you think that you are hard / Then take a stand and prove that you’re a man / What the fuck do you think you’re gonna do / Bulldoze will split your skull in two.”*
I never really got into bands like Bulldoze. Sure, the group can lay down some heavy-as-concrete NYHC power chords but it’s hard for me to look past those generic and juvenile tough guy mentality lyrics. Perhaps it’s because I grew up in the countryside of Latrobe and not the tough streets of New York.
Fans of Madball and Blood For Blood, you probably already know this band. The Final Beatdown contains the complete discography from these “originators of beatdown-style hardcore.” You get to swing your arms and feet to ten studio tracks including their demo, Remember Who’s Strong 7”, and a few compilation tracks, plus two complete live sets on DVD. Definitely enough material here to make any fan joyful.
I’m no tough guy, but if you are (or you think you are) then Bulldoze is for you.
