Bambix
Club Matuchek
Go-Kart CD

Punk-rock isn’t supposed to be boring is it?

Well it’s no surprise this trio from Nijmegen, Holland write tight driving melodic rockers. Formed back in ’88, the members of Bambix have been honing their chops for awhile now. On their fifth full-length, Bambix’s write tight knit tracks, unfortunately nothing sticks.

Bambix’s melodious punk can be comparable to Face to Face or Ten Foot Pole. Driving and upbeat, Club Matuchek’s poppy output is lead by guitarist/vocalist Willia van Houdt. Her voice is tough and powerful and the main aspect of Bambix’s sound.

Toe-tappers like the slow-paced “So Sorry Song” that proclaims “But I’m not the one for you cuz I like girls like me and I hate boys like you,” the circle-pit starter “No. 1,” and the catchy closer “Media Medusa” stood out, but that’s not enough to keep Club Matuchek on constant rotations. Solid, but that exciting dynamic spark just doesn’t seem to get lit.
