Alli With An I
I Learned It By Watching You
Law of Inertia CD

Alli With An I definitely don't bring anything new to rock, but what they do offer is a great second full-length that contains ten blazing tracks of bouncy melodic punk-rock that's consistently catchy track after track.

You can really hear Alli With An I's youthfulness on I Learned It, but that's definitely a good thing. Based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Alli With An I retains a similar sound to that of their punk-rock neighbor, the now defunct The Scaries from Chapel Hill. Elements of Got Beat Up era Weston, Digger, and Empire State Games also come to mind while listening to I Learned It. Kind of punchy, but always upbeat and enjoyable. Brian Paulson produced I Learned It By Watching You, and he has either produced or engineered great albums like Slint's Spiderland, Seam's Pace Is Glacial, A Minor Forest's Inindependence, The Spinanes' Manos, and Superchunk's Foolish, among others (even albums for Beck, Wilco, Dinosaur Jr, Babes In Toyland, etc) and here on I Learned It he does a fine job at capturing Alli With An I's vigorous spunk.

Nothing spectacular or essential, but I Learned It By Watching You is just a good ol' melodic punk-rock record that's highly satisfying, period.
