Allegiance
Desperation
Rivalry CD

It’s fast. It’s loud. It’s hardcore.

There’s only so many ways to play fast hardcore-punk, so to craft a sound that’s both dynamically exciting and original is a challenge. Allegiance might not be the most unique sounding hardcore outfit but they do succeed in playing some highly intense highly aggressive songs that will grab your ear’s attention.

Getting caught up in an Allegiance circle pit will make you dizzy because this outfit doesn’t rest for one second with their straight-ahead attack. With moderately fast chord progressions along with a fuzzy guitar sound, Allegiance builds up a barricading wall of sound. John Stark’s vocals are loud and cutting: “Fiery eyes of doubt and distaste / Intoxicated by a deep rage / Make the blood pump through my veins / Let this burn wash away the pain.”* There isn’t much diversity from track to track, which is the only downfall of Desperation, however Allegiance creates solid hardcore songs that will get you moving.

I pledge my allegiance to the Allegiance.
